Assistant Professor, University of Utah

About

I was a journalist, and now I research journalism.

I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah and a fellow with the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University.

My research looks at the relationship between journalism and the public.

My book, Imagined Audiences: How Journalists Perceive and Pursue the Public, is now available.

I’m also the co-founder of Engaged Journalism Exchange, a series of gatherings that aim to bridge the divide between journalism scholars and innovators.
